Some of you, I know, are eager to start participating. There is a bit of
very mundane help we could use that would make that more possible.

We have adopted TRAC for issue tracking purposes. On the whole, it seems
to meet our needs.

There are two aspects of TRAC that we haven't found a solution for. It
is possible that these exist already and we have simply failed to find
them.

The first is that we need a variant of the Trac AccountManagerPlugin.
There are several things that we want:

  1. We want to validate people's email addresses by sending their
passwords to the supplied address. The plugin should not ask
for the password. It should generate a random initial password
and email that to the supplied address.

There is a Trac RFE for this at

        http://www.trac-hacks.org/ticket/442

if you implement this, you'll be a hero to the whole Trac
     community.

  2. Add mechanism in the AccountManagerPlugin "my account" page
to change the registered email address and (human) user name.
In theory this ought to be pretty simple.

  3. Add a "I forgot my password" option somewhere.

  4. Somebody figure out for us how to disable the Trac "settings" page
so that we can turn it off once the above items are done.
