No problem with asking! Frankly, we're on a *really* tight deadline
(which is why I'm occasionally cranky -- apologies for that), and this
scared the living crap out of me. If we couldn't resolve this in a
couple of days, we were prepared to abandon the new IPC model in its
entirety -- which is something I don't want to do, but we may not have a
choice.

So far the spec rewrite is looking good. Setting aside the fact that I
think we have this solved, the spec is getting clearer and cleaner, and
that is always a good sign.
