As you all know, we've been trying to solidify the endpoint design. I'm
about to send out a series of notes. The first will describe what is
*wrong* with endpoints. The second will provide a brief introduction to
the concept of "scheduler activations". The third will discuss a
radically different design that we came up with today and wish to
consider as an alternative to endpoints.

If you already know about scheduler activations, you can mostly skip the
activations mail, but you might wish to check at the bottom where I will
point out differences between our model and the traditional scheduler
activations model.
