I understand that groups that work on such spezialized stuff usually 
internally only use one distribution and clearly reccomend this one, but

Yes, that sounds realistic, but it isn't obviosly to me how this could 
be related to a mess up of a different path. Anyway, I'm sure you have a 
deeper understanding of this.
