Oh. A small addendum on the previous note:

If the mixfix introduction form is a binding form, then we have no need to
restrict mixfix to operators. The operator/identifier distinction is still
useful for parsing purposes, but the mixfix introduction statement is
perfectly well able to introduce "separator words" that look like
identifiers. This should be thought of as quasi-keywords.

Unfortunately, this doesn't entirely eliminate the need for back-quotes.
